Dedicated to preserving and interpreting the natural, historic, and artistic heritage of the backcountry region of Northwestern North Carolina and Southwest Virginia, this museum has exhibits that include subjects such as the Saura Indians, the railroad, the world's largest open face granite quarry, and the Yadkin River. An observation tower and gift shop are also on site.
