One of the most valuable, historic, and natural resources in the Roanoke Valley, visitors to this canal can experience engineering feats and explore life along the Roanoke Valley as it was in the early 1800s. The canal contains some of the best preserved 19th century construction and features a seven mile hiking trail with rustic bridges.
