The largest museum in North Dakota, the North Dakota Heritage Center's special galleries house the diverse collections of the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Temporary and permanent exhibits of a variety of artifacts and documents, including a silver service of the U.S.S. North Dakota, that explore the story of life on the Northern Plains from prehistory to the present can be found throughout the building in the Documentary Gallery near the Reading Room, foyer of the Auditorium, mezzanine, and the lobby. Public programs and events are held throughout the year. Be sure to stop by the Heritage Center Museum Store.
