Housed in a renovated, turn-of-the-century warehouse in historic downtown Fargo, the Plains Art Museum hosts regional and national fine arts exhibits and has a large permanent collections of 3,000 works of national and regional contemporary art, traditional American Indian art, and traditional folk art. The Museum offers 12 special exhibitions along with smaller exhibitions each year of art of the 20th and 21st centuries. Special events, performances and art classes are held throughout the year.
