The Empire Arts Center is a former movie theater turned performing arts center. The theater was built in 1919 and operated as a movie theater until 1994. It is now the home for many local arts groups. The Empire also hosts a variety of other events and acts, including national touring acts. The theater has a small art gallery, featuring local artists, in the lobby area.
