An active military fort from 1872-1877, Fort Seward now houses an interpretive center that displays artifacts that have been excavated from the site's archaeological digs, Flags Across America, North Dakota's largest America flag; a Veterans' Memorial and views of the James River Valley. One of only 17 such sites in the United States, Flags Across America is a 30 x 60 foot flag.
