The Pierce Manse is the family house of Franklin Pierce, the fourteenth President of the United States. Pierce lived in the home with his wife and two children in the years before he became President. He left for the Mexican War in 1846, after the death of his young son, Franky. The house has been restored to reflect the time when the family resided there. Many of the furnishings belonged to Pierce or to members of his family.
