The Museum contains extensive and varied exhibits that include furnishings, costumes, tools and decorative objects from the 17th to 20th centuries. Period rooms include the 18th century kitchen and bedroom, pre-1820 dining room, and the Victorian sitting room. Such themed rooms as the Doctor's Room with various surgical instruments and devices, Native American Room with arrowheads, tools and shells of the Lenni-Lenape tribe and the Military Room, which contains swords, guns, uniforms and more from the Revolutionary through the Gulf War, can be seen by visitors. The museum is the home to maritime and whaling exhibits, which include the original Fresnel lens from the 1859 Cape May Point Lighthouse.
