Housed in the restored Hanger #1, a 92,000 square-foot all-wooden structure listed on the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places; Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum contains over 26 aircraft displays and exhibits of military memorabilia, engines, photographs and more. The museum also features a library, food vending area and a gift shop. The site of an active dive-bomber squadron training facility from 1943 to 1945, NAS Wildwood Aviation Museum honors the 42 Navy airmen who died while training here during World War II.
