It is a nice country airport. I knew Joe Schwanda when he ran the airport. I was involved in plane crash at the airport and a long time in the hospital(Newton) and then a long rehabbing. Became a Navy pilot and buzzed the field one day and had Joe and mechanics out side waving. Stopped in one day and he told me they really enjoyed the buzzing.I have been living in North Port, Fl for the past 23 years.
