This state park is comprised of three thousand two acres and has been shaped by the forces of storms and tides; the ten mile long barrier island acts as a buffer between the Atlantic Ocean and Barnegat Bay, and is habitat to a great diversity of plants, birds and other wildlife, and offers opportunities for excursions and explorations that are relaxing and interesting at the same time.
