This museum is awesome!

I am fascinated by the Shroud. This museum touches me because my good friend Pete Schumacher, the production engineer for the VP8 Image Analyzer which showed the brightness map clearly in a visual way, opened the museum and asked me to create the website. After creating the site, I realized I knew almost nothing about the subject and this caused me problems in adding information and links to the site. Everything I found I had to vet through Pete because I had no idea how to distinguish reliable from the bogus information.

I have spent nearly the last three years learning about the Shroud. I read books and have been here for most of the major talks by the present Shroud researchers, but one of the biggest projects that helped me learn about the Shroud was taking a 30-slide presentation done by Christa, a home schooled high school student, and reworking that using IT standards to create the slideshows available on the site which provides categories of information on the Shroud.

While the presentation is by no means exhaustive, be it viewed in the category slides or in the total file (130+ slides), one can get a good introduction to learn about this relic and decide for oneself what to think about it.

If you think you might be interested in the multidisciplinary studies that have been done about the Shroud and want to see and interact with the VP8 Image Analyzer and walk right up to a full-size transparency of the Shroud and take a negative photo with your phone and hear interesting talks and watch movies about the Shroud which are are provided admission-free, come on down and take a look. Some come for a few minutes and end up there for several hours.
