Founded in 1917, as the Art Gallery of the Museum of New Mexico, the Museum of Fine Arts can be found in a Pueblo Revival-style building which was designed by I. H. and William M. Rapp. It features more than 23,000 objects, including photography, works on paper, paintings, sculpture, furniture from the 20th century and contemporary art, with an emphasis on work produced in or related to New Mexico. Exhibits include works by such artists as Frederick Hammersley, Georgia O'Keeffe, Luis Jimenez, Eliot Porter, Ansel Adams, and Sheldon Parsons.
