The Southern Nevada Chapter of American Historical Society of Germans from Russia (AHSGR) is pleased to announce the election of their new President, Joanne Giles, at their June meeting and luncheon recently held at Marie Calendars.
Mrs. Giles brings with her many years of experience; she was the owner of Secretarial Specialties, Inc., in Henderson, NV, served on the Board of Directors and was secretary of the Henderson Business Owners Association from 1987-1988; is a life-time member of Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority, having served as a past council president of the Henderson Council and Las Vegas Council and holding all offices within her chapters, and co-chairmanships at conventions. She has received the highest award presented to a member of this organization, The Award of Distinction. Mrs. Giles was also honored in 1990 and 1991 as a Distinguished Women in Southern Nevada.
Within the Southern Nevada Chapter of American Historical Society of Germans from Russia, not only will she be our new President, but she is also the editor of our newsletter. Mrs. Giles along with her husband will be attending the International Convention of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia convention in Lincoln, Nebraska.
