Experience 19th century life on the Niagara Frontier and tour historic homes, churches and one-room schoolhouses situated among Amherst Museum's 35-acre grounds. Amherst Museum is the home of a collection that includes over 50,000 objects, including furniture, clothing, paintings, prints, ceramics, dolls, woodworking, metalworking and textile working tools and photographs. Exhibits on local history, textiles, art and the Erie Canal can be enjoyed. The Niederlander Research Library & Archives houses artifacts and research materials, including ledgers, scrapbooks, certificates, Smithers Pharmaceutical ledgers, over 500 historic maps of the region and over 3,000 identified photographic prints.
