Hallwalls' program areas are visual arts, media arts, music, literature and performance. The visual arts program organizes exhibitions of work by local, national, and international artists in the gallery, provides direct career services to artists, and works collaboratively with other visual arts institutions on special projects. The music program presents jazz and new music concerts in both their space and outside venues. The media arts program presents screenings, occasional festivals of independent, international, and experimental film/video/digital work, and award-winning documentaries, frequently accompanied by visiting filmmakers' personal appearances.
