If you want to go to the Barn restaurant think twice about their "Lobster Festival Night", we went there for a special birthday dinner for my elderly mother who loves lobster. After confirming with the restaurant that it was indeed lobster night and there would be seven of us we made reservations for an early dinner at 4:30 pm. After arriving on time the first thing out of the waitresses' mouth was, there is no lobster!!!! Apparently they had large crowds over the weekend and on WEDNESDAY!!! they hadn't restocked. Though the waitress knew we were very upset the management didn't issue any apologies or try to make any amends. So think twice, there are other good restaurants in Ellicottville go there!!

The restaurant is in the middle of changing ownership. The current owners are probably in the don't care phase right now until it changes hands.

I attended Fall Fest yesterday (Saturday) with my family and we decided to eat at The Barn. The service was really great and for the most part the food was good but.........I ordered my meal and was very wary when the salad arrived. The sallad was a handful of shredded iceberg with 1 cherry tomato. My meal came out and I ordered the blue cheese crusted pork medallions. The 2 pieces of pork were good but as my side was a handful of shredded lettuce. That was sad considering the pork was good and what is even sadder is that I paid $18 for this meal.

Do yourself a favor if you are ever in Ellicotville skiing at Holiday Valley, never EVER eat at the The Barn. We had absolutely the worst food, service and value there last night. The food was terrible and it took over 2 hours to get it. They took 50% off our bill and we still got screwed. There were 13 of us and no one got a good meal. My entre was the worst meal I have ever been served in a restaurant in my life.

Well ifd there are new ownwers ... then they are doing something right. We had a party of 6 people celebrating an anniversary and the staff was excellent. The food was well prepared and tasted as good as it looked. The Prime Rib is excellent, so are the pork medallions. The dessert menu is out of nthis world... you need to try the Pecan Pie. Superb. I woul;d give it 5 STARS.
