Constructed with timbers taken from the ruins of Fort Edward, a French and Indian War fortification; and used by both British and American troops as headquarters during the Revolutionary War, the Old Fort House Museum is open daily June through August from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and from September to mid-October on weekdays, except Mondays and National Holidays, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. School and motor coach tours are available year-round. Exhibits include the 1840's Plank Road Tollhouse, one-room Riverside Schoolhouse, and the circa 1853 A. Dallas Wait Law Office.
