This first period "salt box" house was built of post and beam construction by Samuel Thompson and is unusually large for its period. Most of the windows in the house have their original glass and a fine collection of early Long Island furniture and an outstanding collection of antiques are inside the house. An authentic colonial herb garden is also on site.
