Rosen House at Caramoor

Built around a central courtyard, the Mediterranean-style Rosen House at Caramoor is the former summer home of Caramoor's founders Lucie Bigelow and Walter Tower Rosen. Situated on 90 garden-filled acres, this home was built between 1929 and 1939 to showcase the collection the Rosens had amassed through the years, including such Renaissance, 18th century and Eastern art objects and furnishings as tapestries, paintings, textiles, wall coverings, stained glass and a major jade collection. 20 rooms are open to the public. Tours are available by appointment Tuesday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
