Housed in the Kingsland Homestead, a designated historic site, Queens' only museum of history is maintained by the Queens Historical Society. "Built between 1774 and 1785, the Kingsland Homestead is one of the earliest surviving examples of residential style construction common throughout Long Island, specifically Queens, in the late 18th and 19th centuries." Guided tours are available.
