The Memorial Art Gallery features exhibits of artworks, some of which verge on being immemorial, with fifty centuries of art on display; the relics and art displayed span from the mists of antiquity to modern masterpieces. Proud of their well-balanced collections that represent a multitude of styles and periods, the museum is host to traveling world-class exhibitions, as well as its own varied permanent collection of artworks. In addition to the works of the old masters that one can find here, there are works that represent the cutting edge of avant garde art, interactive displays, and contemporary crafts exhibits that illustrate the vitality of the culture and inhabitants of the present day Rochester region.
