Listed in the New York State Register of Historic Places and the National Register of Historic Places, Mount Hope Cemetery is America's first municipal Victorian cemetery. It features 82 mausoleums, Egyptian obelisks, winged angels of mercy, a Florentine cast-iron fountain, two Gothic Revival-style stone chapels, a Moorish gazebo, and 350,000 graves across 196 acres. Mount Hope Cemetery is the final resting place of Frederick Douglass, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Hollister Frost and Hiram Sibley.
