The Stone-Tolan House endeavours to recreate the activities and ways of life from the times when this area was the edge of the frontier and bordered on the wild expanses that lay to the west; both the activities that would be found in a typical household of the era, and the life that would have been centred around a rural tavern in Brighton between 1790 and 1820, are replicated and explicated at this museum.
