Established in 2003 as a non-profit corporation, the Esopus Creek Conservancy's "purpose is to conserve significant natural landscapes in the Esopus Creek watershed and the Saugerties area." The Esopus Creek Conservancy features over 150 acres that shares a mile of shoreline with the upper Esopus Creek, known as Esopus Bend Nature Preserve.
