Accredited by the American Association of Museums for excellence in exhibitions and programs, the Long Island Museum of American Art, History & Carriages is Long Island’s largest privately supported museum. Its permanent collection includes over 40,000 items dating from the late 1700's to the present, including American artifacts of everyday life, more than 4,000 paintings, sculptures and prints dating from the early 1800's to the present and more than 200 horse-drawn carriages.
