John & Annie Glenn Historic Site 72 West Main Street, P.O. Box 107, New Concord, OH 43762, 740-826-3305, Dedicated to telling the story of 20th Century American history through the lives of John and Annie Glenn, and to creating educational programs for learners of all ages. The site is housed in John Glenn's boyhood home. Tours include a 20-minute movie on the lives of John and Annie Glenn. On the main floor of the home, visitors are treated to a living history tour. Actors in costume will greet you at the door and take you through the house as though it were the day you visit, only in 1944 during WWII. On the top floor of the home, you will see John's bedroom and a toy room just as they were when he lived there as a child. Galleries include memorabilia and displays relating to John and Annie's childhoods, John's military, space and public service careers and much more. National Museum of Cambridge Glass, The 136 South Ninth Street, Cambridge, OH 43725, Downtown, 740-432-4245, This beautiful museum houses one of the most extensive collections of Cambridge Glass; the tools, molds and etching plates used to manufacture the glass; and exhibits on the history of glassmaking. New rotating exhibits from major private collections are featured each year. The gift shop offers genuine Cambridge Glass and limited-edition reproductions, as well as, books on glass collecting.
