"Representing some of the finest examples of Hopewellian resources," Hopewell Culture National Historical Park contains five earthwork complexes: Mound City Group, Hopeton Earthworks, Hopewell Mound Group, Seip Earthworks and High Bank Works. Hopewell Culture National Historical Park "protects the prehistoric remains of a dynamic social and ceremonial phenomenon that flourished in the woodlands of eastern North America between 200 B.C. and A.D. 500."
