More than 10,000 items and artifacts honors and preserves African American culture and history. The museum's permanent exhibition, From Victory to Freedom: Afro-American Life in the Fifties, explores African American experiences in America's history from the period following World War II to the passage of the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
