One of the nation’s five oldest rural/garden cemeteries, Woodland Cemetery has become a cultural, botanical, and educational resource for Dayton. The Arboretum’s 200 acres of rolling hills have over 3,000 trees and 165 specimens of native Midwestern woody plants. The Romanesque gateway, chapel, and office are listed on National Register of Historic Places. Wilbur and Orville Wright and Erma Bombeck are buried here.
