Built in 1918, the courthouse is an outstanding example of the Second Renaissance Revival, complete with detailed ornamental plasterwork and a large mural dome. The interior of the dome has been reworked to its 1918 luster as part of a lengthy plan by the commissioners to restore the courthouse.
