Commanding spectacular views from Astoria's highest hill and patterned after the Trajan Column in Rome, the Astoria Column stands 125 feet tall and has 164 steps climbing to the top. Artwork on the Column represents the discovery of the Columbia River, the establishment of the Northwest Territory and the arrival of the Great Northern Railway.
