Situated on the side of Locust Mountain, less than nine miles from Pottsville, Mahanoy City, Tamaqua and Tuscarora State Park, Locust Lake State Park includes 282 campsites, the 52-acre Locust Lake, hiking trails, two playgrounds, a boat rental concession, environmental education and interpretive programs and more. Hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, sledding, boating, biking, swimming, ice skating, and ice fishing are just some of the seasonal recreational opportunities available at the 1,089-acre Locust Lake State Park.
