While at the fair today, Monday, we became aware of the scooter issue being bantered about. As a couple that depend on the scooters and their availability at the fair to get around, we felt bound to put our nickels worth into the mix. We have to deal with people that are completely unaware of scooters in use. They constantly walk in front of us, stop on a dime to chat, walk into us, and give us evil looks. It's not as if we want to be motorized, we would much rather walk, but we cannot. Most scooter operators, from my personal observation try to be very considerate and accomodating to pedestrians. There may be some that are not, there will always be those. The scooter rental people provide an extremely valuable service to those of us in need. If someone abuses the opportunity to be mobile deal with the individual, not the rental company. If someone complains about being run into, then they must learn to be aware of people being mobile. They must learn curtesy and stop complaining as the boomers are here and there will be more of us needing mobility.
