I study historic log structures in western and central Pennsylvania. The Cooper Cabin is an excellent preserved examble of a log house from the early settlement of the area. It features "V" notching, to lock the logs together at the corners, chinking to fill in the space between the logs, and boxed corners (log ends do not project through the corners).
