Furnished with family heirlooms, memorabilia and other period pieces, the cabin was an original county homestead that was enlarged after the Civil War. Cooper family descendants remained in the cabin until 1963. An extensive herb garden as well as such outbuildings as a spinning house and a springhouse can be seen. Cooper Cabin is open to the public for tours and for special programs scheduled on Sundays May through August.
