Built by Butler’s only United States Senator, Walter Lowrie, this is the last remaining house of its type in the Butler area. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the house and its furnishings were bequeathed to the Butler County Historical Society in 1986. The house museum is open to the public on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Wednesdays from May through August and for special events.
