"One of only five inns in the United States that has been in continuous operation since the 1700's," built 19 years before the Declaration of Independence, the Fairfield Inn was originally the Mansion House of Squire Miller, an original founder of the town. It has been host to Patrick Henry, Thaddeus Stevens and General Robert E. Lee. Individually decorated guest rooms and suites with antiques, spacious private bathrooms and cable television are available. The Mansion House Restaurant and Squire Miller's Tavern "serves a wide selection of classically prepared and artistically presented dishes."
