Owned and operated by the Dauphin County Parks and Recreation Department, Fort Hunter Mansion and Park features spectacular views of the Susquehanna River and Blue Mountains. Built by Captain Archibald McAlister, an officer under General George Washington during the Revolutionary Army, the restored French-style Fort Hunter Mansion is open for professionally guided tours. Nine structures of this 19th century plantation complex are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
