A county park operated by Carbon County's Parks and Recreation Department, the 2,500-acre Mauch Chunk Lake Park includes seasonal tent sites, 12 two-room rental cabins and close to 30 miles of trails, including the "Switchback Trail," an 18-mile part of the National Trails System. Camping, boating, picnicking, swimming, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing are just some of the recreational activities guests enjoy.
