The world's premier horticultural display garden, situated on more 1,050 acres in the Brandywine Valley, is open to the public and is a must when in the area. Over 11,000 types of plants, 40 indoor and outdoor gardens, several fountains, the Flower Garden Walk, six-story Chimes Tower, children's activities, and over 400 performances a year are offered. A gift shop, restaurant, and picnic facilities can also be found on the property that was developed by Pierre S. du Pont in 1906.
