The whole family will enjoy a visit to the Laurel Highlands' Fort Ligonier, a full-scale reconstruction of the 1758-1766 original fortification where the British and Americans, including a young Colonel George Washington and General John Forbes, fought against the French and Indians. Such living history activities as reenactments, encampments and archeological digs are presented throughout the year. The on-site modern museum features five indoor exhibition galleries. Guided tours are available for groups of 10 or more with advanced reservations.
