In 1718, King George I, granted John Wells, the founder of New Hope, a license to operate the first ferry, known as "Wells Ferry." Wells Ferry Boat Rides is located on the original site at the end of Ferry Street in the heart of New Hope. This narrated tour on the Delaware River will give you a little history and a glimpse of New Hope's varied architecture. Wells Ferry departs every hour on the hour from noon to 7 p.m., May through October, weather permitting.
