Founded by artists and business leaders in 1805, this museum is the oldest art museum and school in the United States. Internationally noted for its collections of 18th, 19th and 20th century American paintings, sculptures and works on paper, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts presents special exhibitions, an outstanding permanent collection, and work by some of the region's most talented contemporary artists throughout the year.
