The Opera Company of Philadelphia is "Philadelphia's only producer of grand opera." Established in 1975, following a merger between the Philadelphia Grand Opera Company and the Philadelphia Lyric Opera Company, the Opera Company of Philadelphia's season includes four mainstage productions that are performed at the Academy of Music, America's oldest continuously-running opera house.
