Managed by the Philadelphia Orchestra Association, the Philadelphia Orchestra has become one of the leading orchestras in the world since its founding in 1900. In 1925, the Philadelphia Orchestra was the first symphonic orchestra to make electrical recordings. The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts hosts the Orchestra’s home subscription concerts.
