This nation's first federally funded highway, the 90-mile portion of the Historic National Road located in Pennsylvania is one of twelve state designated Heritage Areas. The corridor is a designated National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark as well as a state scenic byway and a National Scenic Byway - All American Road.
