Completely surrounded by forest, Kinzua Dam and Allegheny Reservoir is one of 16 flood control projects in the Pittsburgh District which provides complete protection for Warren from Allegheny River flooding and helps to reduce flooding in the Allegheny and upper Ohio River Valleys. Swimming, boating, water skiing, camping, fishing, hiking, cross-country skiing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, and canoeing are just some of the seasonal recreational opportunities available in and around the area.
