"Charleston's Revolutionary War House", this Historic Landmark was built by prominent rice planter Daniel Heyward for his son, Thomas Heyward Jr., a signer of the Declaration of Independence. This is also the house that George Washington rented in 1791 during his visit to Charleston. An extraordinary collection of Charleston-made furniture is located inside the house and a period formal garden and restored kitchen building are on site.
