This 18th Century rice plantation is located on a bluff overlooking the Cooper River near Mepkin Abbey. Originally built when "rice was king" in South Carolina in the 17th Century, and then rebuilt after the original house burned, this inn now offers a chance to visit a place where time seems to have stood still. The beautiful grounds feature ancient moss-draped oaks and camellias that are over 200 years old. There are five guest rooms furnished with antiques and period reproductions that offer such amenities as private baths, queen or full-size beds, and TVs. Choose from a continental or full breakfast.
