Founded shortly after Laura Ingalls Wilder's death in 1957, this non-profit organization is "dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the Ingalls-Wilder heritages in De Smet, South Dakota and to educate and enhance the experience of learning to all interested people." The Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Society preserves the largest collection of Ingalls family memorabilia with more than 2,000 original artifacts.
